Currently, my team and I are analyzing the interplay of incarceration and the social determinants of health and mental health of Black men in the US. I am responsible for forming the concepts that we analyze in our papers and conducting literature reviews to help inform and support our final analysis. Additionally, I am one of the authors on three of the papers that we are in the process of writing.

In my role, I specialized in developing comprehensive policy resources by researching state and local government policies related to degree discrimination, pathways, and hiring into middle-wage jobs. I contributed to tracking federal workforce development investments, analyzing the flow of funds to state and local entities. Additionally, I conducted research on employment opportunities for marginalized populations and other topics relevant to workforce development policies.

Each semester of school, I presented a guest lecture focused on my current research to medical students.

Presently, my team and I are measuring the impact of the Whole Person Care (WPC) intervention for transition-age youth (TAY) exiting the adult criminal justice system in reducing substance use and recidivism, examining social networks as a potential mediator. Additionally, we are identifying effective approaches for TAY based on their community health service utilization as well as the impact of COVID on reentry overall.

Our lab focuses on research and policy work that helps to uplift those in poverty as well as address the mental health disparities of at-risk minority people.

Presently, our team is researching the primary and secondhand effect of tobacco smoke on people's hearts and lung, and assessing the air quality in the home where the tobacco is smoked or vaped.

We carried out extensive research on the influence of stress and anxiety on upperclassmen international students at New York University. To understand what was happening with this population we distributed surveys, conducted a literature review. After finalizing the research, my team and I presented findings and program recommendations at the university-wide research conference.

As treasurer, I managed a $250K budget across 11 different programming committees to certify effective use of money spent for each event. Furthermore, we partnered with organizations including Universal Music Group, Sony Music, and the Clive Davis Institute to plan events with up to 3,000 plus attendance. Lastly, I helped to plan a music masterclass which featured high-profiled guests that was published online via Billboard and Ebony.

Shadowed under a pediatric oncologist every morning during in-and out-patient clinical rotations. Charted patient information to present to supervisor for patient review. Attended meetings where doctors from all departments discuss care plans and issues for all patients.

Researched crime incident level data for each major city in the U.S. to create an online database system of crimes for use among researchers. Created data sets for each city that organized the information pertaining to each crime. Compiled and reviewed homicide data to ensure accuracy and completeness of information for online database.

Collaborated with the Advising Center to plan bi-weekly meetings and events for a class of 30 first year students. Assembled and hosted a panel discussion to expose the diverse college pathways for students.
