I am currently working as a medical scribe at Texas Children's Hospital in the emergency department under Scribe America. Here I support pediatricians by efficiently documenting patient encounters using Epic Hyperspace to ensure accurate medical records. As of 7/10/2024, I have accumulated 573 clinical hours. I have recently earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Forensics at Sam Houston State University. This is where I previously designed and conducted two research trials. From August 2022 to May 2024 I conducted independent cell biology research under Dr. Goodspeed and Dr. Clark on the effects of radiation on C. Elegans. I gained proficiency in laboratory management as well as inventory maintenance. My research involved inoculation, agar plate production, light microscope use, fume hood use, incineration, cell staining, and low levels of radiation. Concurrently I conducted pathological entomology research under Dr. Harper. This research was centered around fatty liver disease in Nauphoeta cinerea. This involved handling Blattodea, dissection, data analysis, centrifuge use, cold lab use, and cold storage.
