About Taylor Boulware, Phd
Once upon a time, I was going to be an English professor. I was the kid who always had her nose in a book, who wanted to live at the library, who wrote pages and pages of fantastical stories inspired by the books that captivated my imagination and sparked my creativity. I followed this love of language and storytelling all the way to earning a Doctorate in English from the University of Washington. I was also an effective and dedicated teacher throughout my graduate studies, but I wanted to do more. After earning my PhD in 2017, I had an epiphany: I don't just want to study and teach storytelling and theories of change—I want to be the storyteller and the changemaker. And so, I took a huge leap and left academia to pursue an alternative career path in mission-driven communications and program management. I use my education, experience, and skills to contribute to advancing meaningful change in the world. I've carved out a niche in transforming how nonprofits and other mission-driven organizations engage with their audiences and achieve their goals. My career is a testament to the power of strategic storytelling, impactful communication, and effective program oversight in elevating organizational impact and fostering meaningful change. While my career trajectory has been unconventional, my north star has always been my passion for storytelling and its power to change minds, build community, and inspire action.I’m looking for a new role where I can contribute all of my skills, expertise, and passion for dynamic storytelling and strategic program management to a vision that lights up my passion for social justice and radical change. I am interested in joining a mission-driven organization where I can play a key role in achieving social impact and growth goals through creative strategies, narrative and communications prowess, and nimble program management.I’m always interested in growing my network and connecting with fellow professionals. Let’s connect!
