I have secured victories at every level between local magistrate courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Mobilized from the Select Marine Corps Reserve to active duty in support of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit's deployment to CENTCOM, AFRICOM, and EUCOM in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and contingency operations throughout all three theaters. Served as the unit's Civil Affairs Officer and Future Operations Planner. Served as the MEU's lead planner for Exercise Iron Magic 15, a security cooperation event partnering forces from the 24th MEU, MARCENTFWD, and the United Arab Emirates Presidential Guard. Served as an interagency liaison between elements of the US State Department and forward deployed forces during non-combatant evacuation / military-assisted departure planning for US Embassy Sana'a and conducted operational-level coordination of air support for the withdrawal of US forces from Aden. Conducted coordination between Gulf Cooperation Council forces and United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) during GCC Operations Decisive Storm and Restoration of Hope in and around Yemen. This coordination facilitated the deconfliction of GCC interdiction operations and humanitarian relief efforts and expedited the flow of humanitarian relief to conflict-affected populations in Yemen.

Established the MCB Hawaii branch office of the Marine Corps Victim's Legal Counsel Organization under mandate from the Secretary of Defense. Provided legal counsel to victims of crime - particularly sexual assault and domestic battery. Selected to stand up this office, establish the role of the Victim Legal Counsel, and define the area of victim's rights law within the framework of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and Manual for Courts Martial based upon extensive involvement in sexual assault cases and motions practice as both trial and defense counsel. Left this position as a result of transitioning to the Marine Corps Reserve and civilian private practice.

Served as a Defense Counsel in a four-attorney branch of the Marine Corps Defense Service Organization at MCB Hawaii. Defended Marines and Sailors assigned to 20+ Navy and Marine Corps commands throughout Hawaii and Okinawa, Japan at misdemeanor and - more frequently - felony-level courts martial. Successfully defended several sex crime cases (charges including rape, aggravated sexual assault, and child cases), aggravated assaults, domestic battery, narcotics distribution and use, grand larceny, and an alleged war crime involving a self-inflicted gunshot wound and the attempted murder of two Afghan nationals. Awarded the Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal for services rendered.

Served as one of three trial counsel assigned to the Legal Services Support Team at MCRD Parris Island while awaiting orders for training. Prior to attending Naval Justice School, successfully prosecuted misdemeanor and felony equivalent courts martial and conducted administrative separation hearings for two major commands: Recruit Depot Parris Island and the Marine Corps' Eastern Recruiting Region. Litigated cases involving sexual assault, drug use, violations of general orders, and fraudulent use of government property. Awarded the Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal for successful prosecution in every case assigned.
