As a passionate mental health advocate, with a focus on supporting children, I have acquired diverse experiences in serving youth and adults with depression and anxiety. My continued commitment to working with underserved populations is evident from my work as a volunteer crisis counselor with Crisis Text Line, where I conducted risk assessments related to self-injury, suicidal ideation and behavior, homicidal ideation, and domestic violence.I possess a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I was a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and Psychology society.In terms of professional experience, I have worked as a Social Service Case Worker in Foster Care with Jefferson County Department of Human Resources, where I managed caseloads of 20 families or more to ensure the agencies provide the necessary services. As an Assistant Coordinator at the Culver-Brackin Group Home with Indian Rivers Behavioral Health, I oversaw the program home to ensure clients received the best care possible. Currently, as a Support Coordinator at Ability Alliance of West Alabama, I have coordinated and supported individuals with intellectual disabilities who receive Medicaid waiver services.My leadership skills are highlighted through my involvement with the Tuscaloosa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, where I serve on the Educational Development and Scholarship Committee, the Information and Communications Committee, and the Policies and Procedures Committee as a Co-Chair. My passion for working with children is demonstrated by my role as a Youth Volunteer at the Alabama Blues Project, where I teach vocal lessons for the Alabama Blues Production Band.
