Design and implementation of software modules, especially natural language processing and AI.

I developed and maintained NLP and ML components for a customer-facing chatbot platform. Responsibilities included Research & Development, Scalability, and Reliability. 80% of development done in Java, 20% in Python.

Basic research in computational linguistics, with a focus on multi-modal, event-centric, natural language processing.

Developed corpora for multi-modal human-robot dialog. Continued work on temporal information extraction from text initially developed at the SCALE workshop at the Human Language Technologies Center of Excellence.

Developed new algorithms for cross-lingual, cross-document information extraction from text, as well as system development. The majority of this work was evaluated at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Text Analysis Conference (TAC) Knowledge Base Population (KBP) track.

Worked with other participants at the SCALE workshop, hosted by the Human Language Technologies Center of Excellence, to develop temporal event ordering corpora and annotation framework (TimeBank-Dense) and temporal ordering system (CAEVO) that leverages machine learning and linguistic rules.
