Hello my name is Taylor Desing and I am a recent cybersecurity graduate with leadership experience looking to build a career on the foundation of my education through continuous learning, collaboration, and teamwork. In addition to being a passionate cyber security professional, I bring a self-taught technical skill set from years of designing and building gaming PCs. Since my youth, I have had a passion for technology, the internet of things, and the video game industry. Moving to Seattle in high school allowed me to explore many opportunities to pursue these passions. I enrolled in the Bachelor’s degree program in Game Art and Design at the Art Institute of Seattle where I worked on and led game development projects in team-based environments. I developed strong leadership skills in team management involving work delegation, productivity, document creation, project deadlines, and team culture. Although I was passionate about these projects, I did not enjoy the artistic aspects of the field and began researching programs that better matched my interests and technical skillsets. This led me to making the decision to transfer to City University of Seattle and pursue an online B.S. in Cybersecurity and Information assurance. I chose cybersecurity because it is an exciting field that is constantly evolving, suited my skillsets, and offers endless opportunities for life-long learning. My specific areas of study were vulnerability assessment, risk and threat analysis, incident response, data analysis, and cyber risk management. As well as data compliance standards, security policy, governance, audit planning, and intelligence analysis. I thrive in challenging environments and am a quick learner with strong analytical, observational, and problem-solving skills.
