I interned at WSAZ NewsChannel 3 in Charleston, WV from May 2013 until August 2013. At the station, I went out on stories with our reporters and photographers and helped shoot video and b-roll, conducted interviews, and shot stand-ups. I also helped to edit video in our Edius editing software for our newscasts. I assisted in writing scripts and editing video for our reporters. While there, I had practice at reading the teleprompter while sitting at the news anchor's desk. I helped to set up live shots in the field for our reporters. I had many responsibilities and opportunities at the station and I learned new things daily to help me in the broadcast field.

As New Member Chairman, I was in charge of educating our new member class in the sorority. I was required to set and maintain a budget for my position. I held weekly meetings with our new member class and served as a liaison between the new member class and the sorority. I was required to plan several events such as our Bid Day and our New Member Retreat. I was required to be punctual, reliable, and trustworthy. Holding this position helped me to develop leadership skills that I will one day be able to use in the work force.

As an intern at the West Virginia Power minor league baseball park, I had many different responsibilities. A normal day to day work shift was from 8-5. On game days we would be there until late hours in the night. During my internship, I had experience working with a camera and videoing the games. I had opportunities to work in the press box working with sound for the game. We made several promotional videos for the park itself which are displayed on YouTube. This internship required me to have good communication skills, be personable, and was a great opportunity to work in the sports department.

As the 2011 Miss WV Timber & Wood Queen, I had many responsibilities that I had to fulfill. I had the opportunity to attend the WV Forestry Association's annual convention at Canaan Valley. I had to speak at several events and make many appearances to represent the festival. Winning this pageant gave me the opportunity to compete in Miss West Virginia USA where I was a semi-finalist. It also gave me the opportunity to compete in the Miss WV Association of Fairs and Festivals pageant which is in coordination with the State Fair of WV where I was named fourth runner-up out of 90 girls. Having this title allowed me to develop my communication skills, and my public speaking skills. I was interviewed by many television and radio stations during my reign as well.
