A little bit about me:I have a fascination with music history and a love for learning that influenced me to pursue a career in music education. While teaching music is an incredibly rewarding experience, I decided to shift my focus to archives and music librarianship. Now, I am working towards my MLIS so that I will get the opportunity to help preserve historical manuscripts, as well as make music resources accessible to users.In my experience at the Center for Research in the Humanities within the NYPL, I helped researchers acquire Library materials using the catalog system and interlibrary loans. I helped facilitate the Short-Term Fellowship Program by distributing grants, keeping records of applications, scheduling orientations, and assisting fellows with any research-borrowing questions they may have had. Additionally, I maintained study rooms by ensuring proper shelving of books and completed circulation duties such as checking in/out Library materials.So far in my studies at the University at Buffalo, I have taken Archives and Records, Music Librarianship, and Web Development and Design. These courses have given me experience in several areas including HTML, JavaScript, ArchivesSpace, and databases. I have experience in accessioning, creating finding aids, and researching.
