As a new MSW, I have already engaged with a wide variety of clients. I have had the opportunity to work with clients in all age groups from children to older adults. In my graduate internship, I had the opportunity as well to expand my cultural engagement by working with children in a refugee program from various African countries. In my current position as a contract therapist, I actively engage with clients with a variety of DSM-5 diagnoses from major depressive disorder, to bipolar disorder, to schizophrenia. I have been recognized for organization, communication, and quick learning. My compassion, empathy, and active listening skills that I believe are my best attributes for any social work related position. I will always strive to instill self-determination in all clients and advocate on their behalf that they have access to all needed services and care. I immediately entered the Advanced Standing Master of Social Work program at the University of Memphis following the completion of my Bachelor of Social Work from Mississippi State University. I am actively pursing licensure at the master’s level and plan to complete this process within the next months.
