About Taylor Gardner

Hello, my name is Taylor Gardner. I am a biology major with a double minor in neuroscience and psychology at UNC Asheville. Alongside my academic pursuits, I am an NCAA Division I women’s soccer player and honors student. My passion for biomedical science drives me towards a PhD, with a particular interest in neuropharmacology.Currently, I am an undergraduate researcher at Drexel University’s College of Medicine, working in the Jackson Lab within the pharmacology and physiology department. Additionally, I am an undergraduate researcher at UNC Asheville in the Grosser Lab, where I explore molecular microbiology.Beyond research, I contribute to the academic community at UNC Asheville as a biology tutor and cell biology teaching assistant in the biology department. I am committed to advancing scientific knowledge and making impactful contributions to the field of biomedical science.

My findings have unveiled new functions for the second messenger, c-di-AMP in S. aureus and laid the foundation for drug development targeting S. aureus second messenger signaling during NO stress.
