Postpartum doulas provide a variety of support during the first 12 weeks postpartum, including newborn care education, infant feeding and lactation support, new-sibling integration, meal preparation, light housework, and support with postpartum rest and recovery. My work as a doula includes customized emotional support, gentle companioning, and holding space while providing a whole family approach to compassion centered postpartum support. It is always her goal when working with a family newly postpartum to be a support in all of those areas while nurturing mothers in a way that compliments their own physical and emotional well-being, as well as helping facilitate bonding with their newborn and instilling confidence in newborn care and lactation.
