Taylor Hamilton is a junior at Louisiana State University. She is majoring in Mass Communication with a concentration in Digital Advertising and a minor in English. While at LSU, Hamilton has been involved in several organizations, including the LSU Reveille newspaper and the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), while maintaining her devotion to academics. This can be demonstrated by her presence on the President's Honor Roll twice and the Dean's List once. During her tenure with Reveille, she has been an Opinion Columnist and was recently promoted to Opinion Editor. She will begin this role in the fall of 2024. In PRSSA, she has been an active member and treasurer, a position she will continue to hold in the upcoming fall semester, showcasing her abilities to manage finances, points and attendance, all of which contribute to the club's success.She has also recently become a volunteer for the Companion Animal Alliance (CAA), where she helps to create better lives for the shelter's animals prior to foster care and adoption. Hamilton has assisted with dog walking, laundry, washing dishes, and entertaining the cats. She cannot wait to continue working with this wonderful organization throughout her junior year.Throughout her journey at LSU, Hamilton has acquired academic knowledge and developed crucial skills. She has learned the art of collaboration through various projects and in-class activities, honed her writing skills, including AP style, and used effective communication with her peers and professors. She cannot wait to continue learning more during her upperclassmen years.Looking ahead, she is driven by her passion for academics, wholesome organizations and books. As a child, Hamilton fell in love with literature, and her dream is to help up-and-coming and current authors bring their stories to life. She believes that with great power comes great storytelling and can attest to this notion through some of her favorite authors' works. After graduating in May of 2026, she wishes to work in the publishing industry to help keep the art of storytelling alive.
