The field of conservation is a varied and broad spectrum, which is filled with endless possibilities, wonderment, and discovery. It allows for a curious and dedicated mind to solve complex issues, advocate for sustainability and cooperation, and strive for a better future. That’s why I choose such a field in where I could be passionate about the work I get to be involved in on a daily basis. During my undergraduate studies, I was able to be an active participant in real world conservation practices through undergraduate research positions working on a variety of subjects. I was also able to showcase the importance of conservation through my undergraduate teaching positions as well. These experiences gave me the exposure needed to better understand the importance of actively working to not only conserve the natural world, but to also link that desire with creating a better way to bring about cooperation from communities as well. Conservation is a global and community based work that relies on creating spaces of advocacy. I’m excited to see where my journey takes me in the field of conservation, ecology, and sustainability.
