Building a company has been the most challenging -- and the most rewarding adventure of my professional career. All of my work experiences, honed skill sets, and innate abilities come together in this female-lead media company. We're changing the narrative for working moms and opening up entrepreneurial pathways for a next generation of filmmakers and storytellers. Together with my co-founding sisters, we're building a team of unstoppable idea machines with missions to accomplish and dreams to fulfill.

Oct 2019 - Present

Unscripted Tv Development

Washington D.C. Metro Area

Cable television has an insatiable thirst for quality shows. Viewers just can’t enough of authentic, character-driven TV that showcases unique perspectives and fresh ideas. That’s a lot of pressure on programing. And because different networks want different things, it takes a seasoned and savvy media company to keep the funnel full. So, if you’re a network with a mandate to fulfill, we help you find your needle in a haystack. And if you’re a production company or producer running out of ideas “in the can,” our creative super sleuths find relatable, stories inspired-from-everyday-things that makes darn good television. (For those with talents to share and stories to tell, we treat everyone like we would want to be treated, with honesty, transparency and respect.) Once we all agree on The Idea, it’s our job to plot out all of the format and production mechanics. That means finding the faces of your show in a great cast, identifying the show structure, figuring out the format and budget, and putting all of the moving parts into position. We’ve got the power of the pitch. If our show isn’t already earmarked or commissioned for a particular platform, we beat the drum to find buyers from big name Networks to emerging digital platforms. We like to think of ourselves as “connoisseurs of content”.... we know just how to assemble a great cast, produce the sizzle, and get networks excited about pilots.

Mission-Driven Branded Storytelling

Washington D.C. Metro Area

More and more, individuals and organizations are using our special kind of storytelling to create brand awareness, inspire action, and engage audiences. Video is the most powerful medium to get your message across the globe; it transcends any language or geographical barrier. Nonprofits, companies with a conscious, and progressive professionals are making real connections with people all over the world by spotlighting values and showcasing the heart of their story and the spirit of the mission.Because we have the unique ability to get into the soul of the end-users and the people most impacted by your programs and products, our short, high-end documentary-style video content is the spirit of any forward-thinking marketing plan. For years, our bread & butter has been making short, impactful videos that sell TV shows and have the proven track record of quick buy-in and instant connection / understanding. We are really good at doing this on the small scale.Have you finally realized that investing in digital video is essential for your mission-driven campaign? DM me to make it happen.

Pitch-Perfect Casting

Washington D.C. Metro Area

Sourcing talent is an art in itself. A potential cast can make or break the viability of a show. Is it your intention to find the best auto garage in the country (who just happen to be all-female) to attract new viewers interested in car culture? We can find them. What’s more, we get them over any insecurities about being on TV. Because we approach every project with purpose and intention, bringing diverse perspectives, people, and places into the limelight is the name of our game. We’ve built our reputation on nurturing trusted relationships that gets people to open up and find their voice.Looking for your needle in a haystack? We got you. DM me to start the search.

Docuseries And Documentary Style Filmmaking

Washington D.C. Metro Area

You need to be a bit of a fortune teller to be great at making a feature-length or multi-episode docuseries. And while you strive for smooth operations and well-oiled processes, unpredictability is the nature of the beast in this powerful genre. Lean in on our team: We set the milestones, find the cast, manage the budget, and source shoot locations to achieve your best show. Are you dreaming of a documentary? We are too. DM me to bring it to fruition.

Pre-Production And Development

Washington D.C. Metro Area

The network likes the idea? Rock on! But now they want to see more. A lot more. And they want to see the faces that will make up the show. Now is the time to step up to the plate ready to form a partnership with your new network, sleeves-rolled and ready to collaborate. Together, we come up with a plan to turn visions into reality…. Reality tv that is. We finalize all of the pieces and get the show sold and into production.

Pilots, Passion Projects, And Stand-Alone Episodes

Washington D.C. Metro Area

Some ideas need more than a season on TV to unfold. We love to throw our hearts and minds into cherry-picked passion projects. We’re at our best (as individuals and as a company) when we can dig in and immerse ourselves in a topic. Our creative team has the ability to digest complex ideas and distill them into easy-to-chew digital narratives. If you know of unheard voices and unsung heroes with stories to tell, missions to accomplish, or soapboxes to stand on, DM me to bring it to the screen.

Sizzle Tapes

Washington D.C. Metro Area

Network executives need to be wowed. The growth of digital video means that when it comes to finding buy-in for your show, the space is crowded. You have less than five minutes to capture the attention — and excitement — of decision makers with the power to greenlight your project. Successful shows all start with a visual calling card, in a sizzle (fresh shoot) or ripomatic (strategically edited footage.) Incorporating graphics, music, and a clearly-defined story arc, our promos get noticed.

Mar 2019 - Mar 2020

Unscripted Tv Development And Production

Bethesda, Md

In a frenzy of output, my team and I once produced over 60 development tapes in a calendar year, including network darling and critically acclaimed “Raising Tourettes.” My vision for broadening a global understanding of this fascinating and complicated syndrome was one of consent and collaboration. We brought on the American Tourette's Association as a partner on the project to help ensure our narrative was grounded in an appropriate and respectful manner Our work checked all of the boxes on the network mandate. This important project embodies one of the highlights of my career, where my work made a direct imprint on reducing stigma and furthering conversations about representation and awareness.

Aug 2015 - Jan 2019

Field Producing And Camera Operator

Bethesda, Md

It was here that I discovered a passion as a camera operator. Upping my technical game has always paid off, so I teamed up with a mentor and they put me to work gaining all the on-the-job experience I could handle. (Which was a lot of development shoots.) I made it my mission to become a one-woman crew, knowing how to shoot, light, direct, and produce anything thrown at me. It was baptism-by-fire, and it’s the No. 1 reason why I have such a holistic and comprehensive understanding of the entire production process, from soup to nuts.

Aug 2015 - Jan 2019

Show Creation, Casting, And Idea Factory

Bethesda, Md

It was up to me to come up with and collaborate on the most creative and compelling television I could dream of. I wore many hats: liaison, ombudsman, evangelist. I became hyper focused on developing the kind of peer-to-peer relationships needed to be the one at the table who could cut deals — fairly and squarely — and set the wheels in motion for development.

Aug 2015 - Jan 2019

Director Of Development

Lucky Dog Films

Silver Spring, Md

I built this department from scratch. It was born out of an absolutely gung-ho attitude about the craft (and business) of unscripted TV. I did all of the hiring — including the creation of an internship program. I fleshed out systems and standard operating procedures. I learned first-hand what it is like to be face-to-face with the networks. (In fact, it was in my tenure that we landed a great development deal with National Geographic within the first 3 months. Feather --> Cap!)

Jun 2014 - Aug 2015

Reality Tv Development & Production

Washington D.C. Metro Area

I was brought on board to support production and casting for a show called Swamp Brothers on the Discovery Channel and I got right to work learning the ins and outs of development. I brought creative ideas and an eye for talent to the project and started to really hone my skills as a producer. This is where I got into casting, one of my greatest strengths today.

Jun 2011 - Oct 2013

Associate Producer

Silver Spring, Md

I truly believe that you can orchestrate any change in your life, if you put your everything into making it happen. This is how I came to Brainbox, fresh out of a career in retail and sales and hungry to make a name for myself in my dream career of television, I convinced this seasoned (but struggling) production company to carve out an internship for me. Given my experience, enthusiasm, and skill set, I quickly rose from making coffee to being in the deep end of the pool, suddenly responsible for all-of-the-things… and loving every minute! I worked with a skeleton crew to serve as an Associate Producer on a series of web-based trainings on the subject of Drug & Alcohol Awareness for the US Army. By making myself indispensable, I created a career that fuels my drive and piques my passion.

May 2010 - Dec 2010

Sales Star

The Ad Solution

Rockville, Md

In business, you are either good at sales… or you end up working for someone else who is. No other role has paved the path to leadership like sales. You must be a good listener, cutting through all of the noise to recognize trends in all of the murmur. You’ve got to have great product knowledge and be able to live up to the parent company’s brand promises of presentation and customer service. And you better be great at upselling or you go hungry. Here I honed my ability to put the customer at ease, hear what they need, and deliver it all with exceptional service. In addition, I created a department that sold only environmentally friendly products, which gave me my first taste of creating something that makes a tremendous impact, as well as the power of building a brand around intention and good citizenship.

Jul 2006 - Sep 2007

General Manager

Bethesda, Md

You know that girl? The 23yo manager of a multi-million dollar high-end boutique? The one making her first foray into the world of rich people with expensive taste? Yup, that was me. In the pressure cooker of retail, I quickly learned to think on my feet, handle any problems that came my way, and inspire repeat business with personality and pizazz. (And, incidentally, this is where I fell in love with designer jeans.)

Sep 2004 - Jan 2006

Project Manager, Research Director, And Program Manager

Arlington, Va

Following a GSA schedule, I helped to manage training packages for government agencies. I took the lead on specific projects, including management tracking, market analysis, and focus groups. I helped develop a sales & marketing strategy based on my findings and launch multi-faceted initiatives. Working closely with government agencies and NGOs taught me to always think deeply about the end user and how their experiences are impacted by your work.
