The ARMI FishCore facility is the largest zebrafish facility of its kind in the southern hemisphere, consisting of 1000 quarantine tanks and 5200 main facility tanks (non quarantine). It houses genetically modified and mutant strains of zebrafish and axolotl, and wild epaulette sharks that model a variety of human diseases and conditions. In my role I cared for thousands of fish from 5 species, maintaining an ethical and healthy housing environment, rearing fish from egg until death. I performed basic water quality assessment and maintenance for multiple water systems.

Cellular

Within the Sgro-Dowling Lab which is primarily an evolutionary ecology lab at which I primarily maintained Drosophila population stocks for investigating global warming effects against rates of evolutionary change and thermal adaptation. This role additionally involved assisting experiments, data entry, surgical manipulation, light microscopy and ImageJ processing of data.

I'm the treasurer and active member of the committee. I create, manage and help run events while making sure all financials are up to regulation. I took this unpaid position because of how much I enjoy the society and the fun environment it creates.

I attended regular meetings and events. Helping to organise inventory and developing and distributing advertising materials for regular events.
