As a conservation interpreter at Fresno Chaffee Zoo, I educate the public on animals and the importance of conservation, facilitate safe interactions between guests and animals, and increase public engagement with meaningful discussions. I also reinforce positive behaviors of animals at interactive exhibits, using my knowledge of biology and animal behavior.Before joining the zoo, I completed my Master of Science in Biology from California State University, Fresno, where I worked as a research assistant for several projects involving diverse species and topics. I executed qualitative and quantitative research studies using multiple proven research methodologies, worked closely with team members to deliver project requirements, develop solutions and meet deadlines, and conducted data processing and analysis using various computer software. One of my most impactful projects was on sea turtle conservation, where I conducted surveys, measured, tagged and observed sea turtles, and recorded data precisely and managed source documentation.I am skilled in data collection, field research, data analysis, and oral communication. I have a passion for biology and conservation, and I enjoy projects where I can use my passion to further our understanding of the natural world and inspire others to care for it.
