Working as a nurse is of the most rewarding jobs you can have. It is by no means an easy job and can sometimes be exhausting, but to those who are receiving care, nurses are invaluable. I believe nurses possess skills that can't be taught in our Bachelor degree, such as interpersonal skills, empathy and the ability to connect with people quickly – which is extremely important in an intimate environment. These skills make our patients' experience in care much more comfortable. Nurses' never shy away and say no to the icky and queasy tasks, challenging behaviours, the extremely unwell, and those jobs that can often be thankless. Nurses' persevere and provide the best care possible. Nurses have excellent, caring souls who frequently work hard to ensure everyone is ok before taking time for us. My past studies as an undergraduate scientist, mixed with my current studies as a nurse, have strengthened the knowledge of systemic physiology and pathophysiology, linking how the body systems work when in a state of disease or injury. As a nurse, it is my role to provide holistic patient care to those in need, prevent further illness and promote wellness. Thank you to all my fellow Sisters!
