Assist in patient care under the direction and supervision of MD and RN at a Level I Trauma facility. Perform EKGs, vitals, phlebotomy, specimen collection, patient transport, splints, wound care, CPR, and rapid response. Assist patients with ADLs; monitor and assist with care of behavioral health patients. Work as Unit Secretary to send out pages, answer phones, and conduct tasks related to aiding overall department flow. Stock supplies in IV carts, patient rooms and trauma bays. Document all interaction and procedures performed on patient within scope of practice. Must maintain proficient understanding and/or recognition of all medical equipment necessary to provide care.

Dispatched all around the hospital to primarily transport patients of all ages and conditions safely to their rooms, transferring them to new rooms between units, to and from procedures (i.e. pre/post surgery, X-Ray, MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, test facilities, etc.), discharging them from the hospital, and transporting deceased patients to the morgue. Other duties include blood runs, specimen runs, and transferring/stocking equipment (i.e. beds, stretchers, oxygen tanks). This position requires me to maintain my BLS certification, utilize proper patient transfer techniques, and be familiar with patient care equipment.

University Of Portland Athletic Training Room

I was an extension of the athletic trainers during normal athletic training room hours and games. Duties consistent of aiding in athlete treatment/rehab setup and conduction (i.e. hooking them up to modality equipment, helping with rehab exercises, taping, stretching, wrapping ice/heat, etc.), being prepared for and aiding in emergency situations, filing medical records, documenting and updating athlete medical information in the system, cleaning and stocking the work place, athletic game bench setup and breakdown.

Perform duties to maintain, prepare, and fix any problems on all athletic fields on campus. Usual duties include mowing, game prep (i.e. painting lines on the fields), post games duties (i.e. rebuilding mounds or seeding), cleaning, repairing weather induced damage or any other damage/complications to equipment or plumbing.
