I always knew I wanted to help people. Even as a child, I was always looking for ways to help the people around me. As my grandmother would be making dinner or folding laundry, I was right there to assist her. If a classmate was struggling in school, I was there to offer help. Nothing brings me greater joy than knowing I am making a difference in someone's life.Now as an adult, I have found ways in my life to help those close to me and in my community. I went to the Univerity of Oregon and received my B.S. in Psychology, with minors in Sociology and Creative Writing. My hope was that I could help people mentally and emotionally. I specifically wanted to become a college-level counselor to help people transition from high school to college, as there are many struggles that come along with that. This mindset blends into the work I currently do, which is providing support workers to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Being able to provide these families with a support worker means our clients will be able to reach their goals of being more independent, as well as making their lives easier with a little assistance for everyday needs. I am also a wonderful listener and very empathetic. This is why a lot of my friends and family come to me if they need to talk. I am always there to lend a listening ear and try to provide ways to actively solve their problems.Outside work, there are many ways I enjoy utilizing my time. I love spending time with my friends and family, reading, watching streamers, attending concerts, among many other things! I love making new friends and being a part of new experiences. I am sociable, which allows me to thrive in any setting, as well as dependable, so people know they can trust me. I am still figuring out my way through life, but that means I am always excited to learn new things and take action. There are many opportunities that I am so grateful I've had, and even more that I know will be coming my way. Because of this, I am excited to see where my journey takes me and who else I am able to help along the way!
