Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations and Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED)/Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) policy in planning and implementing Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) for students with disabilities who are potentially eligible for VRS services, and serve as a coordinator for services for transition-age students who need Pre-ETS, and who meet other requirements as specified in the Rehabilitation Services Act of 1973, as amended by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity ActLead and facilitate projects and initiatives with cross-functional teamsConduct outreach to schools and recruit students for Pre-ETS services; identify individual needs and implement services; refer students to Pre-ETS contractors for services as needed; implement Pre-ETS Coordination Services; and, participate in professional development and trainingDevelop and foster relationships with teachers, counselors, special education directors, principals, and superintendents in assigned high schoolsParticipate in activities and events for recruitment of potential Pre-ETS students and youthOffer related program information and/or referrals as needed, complete documentation, and collect reports to ensure requested services were providedProvide Pre-ETS Coordination Services in collaboration with assigned schools: attend Individualized Education Program meetings; develop student work opportunities; work with schools to coordinate Pre-ETS; attend person-centered planning meetings.Assume a professional leadership role to enhance positive interactions and relationships with clients, family members and representatives, employers, colleagues, and others involved with service provisionMaintain a working knowledge of social and psychological aspects of disabilities, counseling students on employment and postsecondary education; employer needs, labor/occupational trends, and related community resources

Developed and supported by MSS, a disability services organization, eTrac is specifically designed for those with barriers to employment. As a Job Placement Specialist, my primary focus was helping people with disabilities find a job or career that was the right fit for them and supporting them in their employment journey.
