I joined the Special Olympics New York team back in 2022 - My focus as the Senior Director of Health Programs is to forward SONY’s mission to help people with intellectual disabilities have access to high quality healthcare through initiatives like Healthy Athletes, Fitness programming, and Health education opportunities. I am thrilled to be a part of the greater Special Olympics Movement! I enjoy working with people of all ages when it comes to health, fitness and recreation. I spent 8 years as a high school track & field coach at my former high school. I feel that sports participation teaches children and young adults life lessons like team work, time management, and the importance of hard work - I credit my involvement in athletics as the reason for my success in school and in my professional life.In 2023, I started my own business, Treading Turtles Swim Lessons. I have been an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor for 9 years, and have over 13 years of experience working in aquatics. I travel to home pools and teach children of all ages the important safety aspects and swim skills that go into being safe around water.
