My name is Taylor, as a Dramatherapist I am both a clinician and an artist currently in post as Lead Creative Art's psychotherapist at the Refugee Council. I am an Editorial Board Member.My practice seeks to engage with the complexity of intersectionality, intersubjectivity and cultivate client agency collaboratively, recognising fragmentary, overlapping and contrasting aspects of self.Dramatherapy is an accessible form of Psychotherapy that takes a developmental approach to person-centred/client-led work.Therapy is something that can only work when both parties are ready and committed to the process.I offer a free 1:1 introduction so that potential clients can make an informed decision to opt-in and begin the cultivation and co-creation of a safe and brave space.I work within the window of tolerance, using metaphors to indirectly explore sensitive issues that may seem otherwise unbearable. I invite individuals to choose how much or how little to share. As a therapist, I take a position alongside, to explore an individual's internal world. Using the modality of dramatherapy you have to opportunity to reflect and manifest this internal reality externally, through story-making, storytelling, music, movement, art, and/or drama to contain what may seem otherwise unspeakable. I think of dramatherapy as psychotherapy+, using psychoanalysis and Afro-centred approaches to connect with my clients in a  meaningful and significant way 1:1 and in group settings face to face or online. Dramatherapy practice does not rely on spoken language alone to communicate what a client or patient may wish to address, explore and seek support with. I use a wide range of techniques in verbal and non-verbal ways with a key focus on the body to identify and engage with whatever may be present in the room to affect psychological, emotional, and social changes.Dramatherapists are registered and regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) having undertaken a Masters level training from an approved university course, I studied in Cambridge.
