While working here, I have utilized many time-saving programs (for example, Employee Navigator and Zywave) that help alleviate the HR tasks of our clients and the Admin work that tends to bog down many supervisors in this industry. This way, my bosses are able to sell more policies, and more importantly, further their interpersonal relationships. I was first drawn to the organization because of their networking opportunities and, honestly, the name “Women in Business”. What WiB has given me is so much more than I could have realized. I have been blessed with relationships with ambitious women and attended events that have led to personal professional growth. In 2018-2019, I held the role of VP of Corporate Relations which includes leading the planning and execution of our largest event, the Night of Networking, and raising over $11,000 in sponsorships. During the 2019-2020 academic year, I was the Vice President and aided our President in planning weekly meetings and taking care of overhead priorities. I have learned that leadership is about serving our members and giving them the opportunities that THEY want, not just the easiest events to plan.
