Aspiring AstroDoc | STEM Advocate | Philanthropist | SpeakerAs a Morgan Stanley Scholar at Spelman College, I am pursuing a Biology degree on a non-traditional pre-med track, with the goal of becoming a physician and scientist dedicated to creating safe healthcare spaces for Black and Brown women. My journey is fueled by a passion for advocacy, philanthropy, and inclusion, particularly in STEM, where I strive to disrupt the status quo and ensure that girls like me have equal representation.Currently, I serve as Vice President of Alpha Starz Inc., Health Co-Chair of Spelman NAACP, STEM Director of the Girls Have Rights organization, and a Gen Z advisor for the “Have A Nice Day” app. I am also an Emory University 2024 LGS SOAR/INspire mentee, working on summer research opportunities in infectious disease or oncology. My clinical shadowing and research interests focus on improving cancer care for marginalized communities.Since childhood, I have been committed to giving back, founding the “Taylor’s Take Flight with a Book” initiative, which has donated over 50,000 books globally. Through various fundraising efforts, I’ve raised over $500,000 to send girls to STEM and empowerment camps and to support educational, health, and social justice initiatives.Beyond my advocacy, I am a public speaker, addressing topics such as mental health, self-care, and the neurodivergent experience. Living with ADHD and dyscalculia has shaped my approach to life, allowing me to embrace my unique journey and advocate for others navigating similar paths.I have been featured in People Magazine as one of the “Girls Changing the World,” Teen Vogue’s “21 Under 21,” and The Root’s “Young Futurists.” I have also appeared in documentaries like “ASTRONAUTSTARBRIGHT: Story of a STEM Advocate” and “Fly Like A Girl,” which highlights the role of girls and women in STEM fields. In addition, I co-authored a picture book with Havana Chapman Edwards and wrote the foreword to Fred T. Joseph’s New York Times bestseller “Better Than We Found It.”I am always looking for opportunities to grow, and I welcome the chance to collaborate on clinical shadowing or research in infectious disease or oncology this summer. Let’s connect to explore how we can make a difference together!
