Taylor Soderborg, MD, PhD is the Medical Director at Tiny Health and a licensed physician scientist with training in Pediatrics and has a PhD in Integrative Physiology. She received her MD and PhD degrees from the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine in the prestigious Medical Scientist Training Program. She then completed her internship in Pediatrics Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard, the number one Children’s Hospital in the country. Dr. Soderborg has published numerous high-impact papers, notably as first author of the highly cited article “The gut microbiota in infants of obese mothers increases inflammation and susceptibility to NAFLD” published in Nature Communications, 2018. In this work, she demonstrated a role for the infant microbiome in contributing to the risk of developing liver disease and obesity. Prior to becoming a physician-scientist, Taylor received a B.A. with high-honors in Neuroscience from Oberlin College and taught middle school science in Chicago Public Schools as a Teach for America Corps member - Amgen Scholar. Inspired by her work as a middle school teacher, her knowledge of the microbiome, and her experience as a physician, she transitioned from academia to become the Medical Director at Tiny Health. Dr. Soderborg believes gut health is one of the most influential components of human health and the opportunity to reduce chronic illness lies within the microbiome. In her work at Tiny Health, she helps to bring the most cutting-edge research to the public to improve lifelong wellness, from conception through adulthood.
