About Taylor R. Yeomans
I am committed to amplifying the work of disability justice, mad pride movements, and transformative justice. I have a diverse background bridging academia, community engagement, and 2SLGBTQI+ and mad/disability advocacy. Always championing lived experience and proud to bring my own to this work as a queer disabled person. I work for Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce as a Program Lead for Rainbow Registered (Atlantic Canada). In this role, I work closely with our Business Development and Membership Services teams to oversee Tourism and Rainbow Registered Programs in the Atlantic Canadian region. My passion in this work is aiming to actively centre intersectionality in queer inclusion efforts. There is no queer liberation without anti-racism and anti-ableism. I founded the Halifax Bisexual+ Network in June of 2024 and it has only grown and grown from there. Our team of four is proud to have hosted multiple successful events, being the first bisexual+ specific network in the region in over 10 years. Alongside my work with CGLCC and the Halifax Bi+ Network, I am proud to serve on the Board of Directors for 211 Nova Scotia and sit on the Strategy and Community Relations committee. Additionally, I sit on the Community Advisory Committee for Nova Scotia’s first provincial Autism Action Plan in an attempt to provide advocacy around disability justice and amplify the voices of multiply marginalized autistic people.
