Note: Sitka Inc. (health-tech SaaS startup) merged with AristaMD in November, 2023At AristaMD, I had the opportunity to build the foundation of AristaMD's second platform iteration, combining Sitka and AristaMD's separate platforms into a single, modernized application. We did this using Web Components, Javascript, ExpressJS, and Postgres. In addition to feature development I helped make architecture and tooling decisions that enabled us to meet development requirements and deadlines.At Sitka, I had the privilege of contributing to various critical initiatives that shaped the company's success. Here are some key highlights from my journey with Sitka:- I took on the challenge of identifying modernization issues within our existing codebase and led a successful effort to uneject our application while updating out-of-date packages. This included navigating major breaking changes, resulting in a smoother development process and improved security.- I utilized solid engineering techniques to develop a HIPAA-compliant speech-to-text processor. This innovation allowed us to convert AWS Transcribe output into written-quality text by enabling accurate capitalization, spoken punctuation, and text formatting commands, resulting in a 95% reduction in transcription errors.- I spearheaded the development of a key feature that displays specialist bio information to our users. This involved end-to-end management including requirements gathering, leading meetings with stakeholders, overseeing development, coordinating with non-engineering teams for data gathering and ingestion, and orchestrating a successful feature release.- I believe in the power of collaboration and regularly support team productivity through code reviews, offering valuable insights on code design and direction, conducting feature demos for the broader company, and foster regular cross-team communication.

Lowering the cost of healthcare by revolutionizing IT infrastructure management

Through most of 2020, I was involved in building a greenfield project from the ground up.- I lead frontend development using React.- I built backend Java APIs integrating CosmosDB, Follett's Destiny product, and Google GSuite.- I built out application infrastructure using Terraform in Azure.- I drove the implementation of continuous delivery and continuous integration processes using Azure DevOps.While in this role I have worked on other teams to accomplish Follett's goals for other products.- I leveraged an in-house microservice to connect Follett's Collections product to Azure Blob Storage and successfully migrated 100k+ user images from self-hosted MongoDB storage to Azure.- I executed on key business objectives to rewrite the Destiny Discover frontend from scratch, updating it from AngularJS to Angular.- I increased adoption of Follett products by improving ADA compliance.
