Analytical Chemist to Investment Analyst.Executing the same standard operating procedures day after day is enough to make me climb the walls. During those long days in the lab, I knew I needed a career path that would offer unlimited opportunities to learn, which led me to financial markets. I enjoy how disparate these learning opportunities can be, whether I’m discerning how to structure a currency carry trade or the waterfall of a new type of asset-backed security. Walt Disney summarized my feelings more eloquently than I ever could: “When you’re curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.”In addition to learning new areas of markets, I am pursuing continuous improvement in my skill set, so that investment intuition is not let down by feeble analysis. I passed the CFA Level III exam in June 2018. I am currently learning Python, R, and SQL so that I can more easily derive investment insights from large data sets in the future.
