Welcome to my page!Hello, my name is Taylor Hooper, I currently work at Interior Health as Rehabilitation Assistant while continuing my education in Alberta. While studying at SAIT, I had the opportunity to work with a wide range of age groups and several types of diagnoses which prepared me greatly for my current role. This allowed me to understand both behavioural and clinical issues and how to overcome them in a professional manner. In my current position, I am currently assigned to the "Critical Care" team which covers the Intensive Care Unit, Critical Care Unit and Cardiac Unit. In this position, I work alongside a great team which is well known for their compassion, collaboration and hardworking identities. As I enter my fourth year of my Bachelors of Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies, I will be starting to apply for my master in Physiotherapy in the fall. Once I become a Physiotherapist, I hope I can provide quality care and specialized treatments to people isolated in rural areas and not having the same options compared to a city centre. As you can see from my background, I really appreciate living in the Rocky Mountains and hope to reside somewhere in the central interior of British Columbia once I completed all my education.As for my professional identity, being young makes me very adaptable and willing to learn new things. I have much textbook knowledge but am prepared to continue learning new skills and improving my current ones in the workplace. I believe my variety of past practical experiences gives me a wide range of knowledge which has prepared me for many situations. I have experienced high intensity situations and the daily tasks in many environments including: regional hospital, outpatient, pediatrics, and long-term care. I enjoy working alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Recreational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, and fellow Rehabilitation Assistants within a patient-centred setting.
