Don’t talk to strangers was always a tough rule for me and to this day one of my favorite ways to pass the time on a flight is getting to know the person next to me. “A people person” hardly scratches the surface. I was initially drawn to marketing because I am interested in the psychology behind sales. I have stayed with marketing and went on to specialize in integrated advertising because I appreciate the opportunity to communicate and build relationships with stakeholders. Integrated advertising is communicating with the public through multiple channels, like print, social media and email marketing. I am well versed in content creation, search engine optimization and social media advertising. Branding is my favorite aspect in the field of marketing, I enjoy getting to know my client and talking to them about their views and goals for their business.In my time as a marketing major at Champlain College, through Appreciative Inquiry, I was taught the value of listening to everyone's voice. I learned about a marketer’s power to influence attitudes and the responsibility that comes with that power. When I studied feminist theory, queer theory and anti-racist theory, I learned how important it is to portray non-traditional families, and people of all genders and races in advertising. It is necessary to me that I work in an organization that has a mission for progressive change.
