In this role, I spent significant time in each of the functional departments with a hands on approach to learning all aspects of the business and how they worked together. From that experience, I was able to build strong relationships which set the foundation or culture for making operational improvements.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Selected to be part of 8 person pilot group for a new role in the company. This team and our leader ended up receiving the JCP Chairman’s Award in 2015 due to its successful rollout. Key strategic, analytical partner of the merchant team with a focus on accurately quantifying the buy plan including sku/choice count, sizing, flow plan, localization) for a $500M apparel category.Responsible for the accurate guidance on sales and inventory opportunity and risk ranging from department level and brand/program plans to location level risks and opportunities- online, store, region, climate, district.Alongside 3 Business Analysts, set and managed the team direction on allocation (product distribution). This included both pre-season, “buy impact” recommendations and in-season “reaction” analysis and actions.

Set inventory management priorities and execution schedules for team on all allocation/distribution related plans and strategies for a $200M apparel category. Allocated and optimized inventory to 1100 retail stores focusing on sales growth and inventory productivity. Collaborated with store planning manager and buyer on pre-season strategies to adjust and optimize the assortment plan at group and location level to drive productivity. Executive leadership partner and subject matter expert on reporting and analytical projects relating to climate/demographic segment, sizing, alt localization initiatives. Successfully trained new to position business analysts and interns through their company training schedules. Provided collaborative guidance and shared learning to other category business analysts.

Greater Seattle Area

Collaboratively managed 13 national brand accounts for the women’s apparel division with a focus on driving sales growth, margin improvement, and inventory productivity. Retail/brick and mortar as well as online channels. Quantified and prepared market plans for buyer. Assortment, choice count, what if analysis etc.Developed and structured reporting, location profile templates, sizing and flow parameters for executing the final pre-season purchases.
