As the acting director I oversee all aspects of the cybersecurity operations for the university of Illinois. This includes direct oversight of the Incident Response, Vulnerability, Cybersecurity Engineering, and Cybersecurity Development teams. I report to the Interim Chief Privacy and Security Officer.

Oversee the security engineering team in the security and privacy office of Technology Services. Focus on building capacity to enable Cybersecurity Operations and Critical Response teams.

Manage the system infrastructure for the College of Media and Illinois Public Media. Oversee the helpdesk at WILL. Work on virtulization, storage, and network planning and infrastructure build out. Deployed new teaching and learning technologies and strategies at the college. Helped merge the two units divergent technologies into a more central infrastructure. Currently working on the vision to bridge the gap between the professional WILL (Illinois Public Media) and the College of Media's educational mission. Guest lectured and taught various courses including topics such as IT security for media professionals and lectures on copyright, open source, and creative commons. Ranked as "Excellent" instructor for IT Security for Media Professionals Course.

The primary Linux system administrator dealing with systems meeting educational and business needs. Developed shard use servers for Linux education and also developed back end architecture for Drupal and Oracle Identity Management services. Worked primarily with Red Hat and implemented such tools as Nagios, Puppet, and many custom scripts.

Was a Linux & Windows admin for main academic technology unit. Started with implementation of the Moodle learning management platform helping make it at one point the largest install in North America. Subsequently presented about scalability and database design for Moodle at various Moodle Moot conferences. In last two years implemented classroom video capture and streaming system based on proprietary Echo360 product before moving to central IT unit at the university.
