After the whirlwind year of 2020, I was craving to work for a company that held the same values and beliefs as me, one that supported small, sustainable, impactful businesses predominately run by female and POC founders & leaders. The agency championed storytelling and thought leadership through authentic, effective, transparent PR – which carried through to our client relations as well. Setting realistic expectations based on the current media landscape, encouraging clients to think beyond the traditional avenues of PR to build a foundation of trust amongst consumers and journalists alike, showing up across diverse platforms – including podcasts, brand blogs, community and industry events, and more. My second year at PURPLE arrived at the same time as the COVID-19 Pandemic. Working in hospitality and travel, this presented a major challenge to continue to generate press coverage and maintain relevancy for our clients. We had to get creative & move away from the typical reviews and destination guides, honing in to support secondary LOBs to drive media and consumer interest. This meant stories like 'how to recreate the hotel experience at home' or tapping our expert chefs and spa talent for thought leadership and commentary around trends, provide tips & tricks during the holiday season, etc. During this time, I was also tasked to lead the charge for our new spirits clients – which was such a treat, as they each had an amazing story that I wanted to tell. Whether it was sustainable agriculture or social good initiatives, these clients allowed me to work in a space that mirrored my own values and beliefs. - The Equiano Rum Co.- Mijenta Tequila- Hutton Brickyards (Salt Hotels)- LOGE Camps
Junior Account Executive
PURPLE brought me to the forefront of culture – think fashion, art & music, nightlife and brand events at Ian Schrager's PUBLIC and EDITION Hotels, including Miami for Art Basel – and gave me the opportunity to sharpen my skills as a publicist by offering me real autonomy to make things happen. This is where my career in travel, hospitality, and food & beverage really began.- EDITION Hotels (New York, Times Square, Miami, West Hollywood, Bodrum, London, Barcelona, Sanya, Shanghai, Tokyo)- PUBLIC Hotel, Lower Manhattan- Special Project: "Martin Margiela: In His Own Words" documentary- Nemacolin (Woodlands Resort)
Social Media Manager & Content Producer
Public Relations Coordinator
My first real foray into Public Relations, supporting an industry legend and a luxury roster of primarily French brands. Celine and the team at CKPR encouraged me to pursue a career in PR, confirming my natural talent to do the work while I was still thinking about a stylist career (thank goodness). They helped me create a foundation to build my career in PR, sharing their wealth of knowledge and expertise, allowing me to tap into their impeccable network while building my own connections with up and comers across the industry, and introducing me to a truly luxurious, international client roster that spanned categories, including beauty, fashion, wellness, hospitality and food & beverage. I learned how to communicate through cultural differences and language barriers, how to foster meaningful relationships, how to plan events, and so much more. - Christophe Robin Paris, the famed French colorist's eponymous hair care line - Maison Francis Kurkdjian, perfumery and inventor of the fragrance wardrobe – before Baccarat Rouge 540 went viral- Ladurée, manufacturer and retailer of high-end pastries and candy known for its world-famous macarons - Clinique La Prarie, a leading medical, health & wellness resort in Switzerland- Le Bon Marche, the iconic, first modern department store- Darphin Paris, high-performance French skincare- ERES Paris, the innovative swimwear & lingerie company- LAPIMA, artisanal Brazilian sunglasses designer - Haute Victoire, NYC-based fine jewelry designer

Moving to NYC with no real experience, a.k.a starting from scratch with internships post-college (while many others had the chance to do so during their school years), meant a side hustle was necessary to allow me to continue pursuing my new career in the country's toughest city. With an education in communications, a new career in public relations, and a life-long love of writing and journalism, I was thrilled to support This Generation, an independent media company creating widely accessible and comprehensive content featuring the diverse, incoming (this) generation of fashion, beauty, music, and film industry professionals.

The very reason I made it to NYC after college – with little to no understanding of PR and no real hands-on experience in communications, someone gave me a chance. I was meant to complete this internship at another company, but when the manager who hired me had moved jobs just 2 weeks before my start date, she invited me to join her on the PR team working for a Brazilian jewelry designer with a background in sculpture and fine arts, whose designs could be seen on red carpets and in fashion magazines (my dream!). I completed this internship in tandem with my stylist internships and got a real behind-the-scenes look at the fashion industry and fashion journalism – from all angles.
