As an Operations Management Intern, I actively contribute to the organization's operational efficiency and success. I assist in optimizing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions. Projects I successfully implemented during my time working at Gensco:- Successful identified an opportunity in our supply chain to substantially reduce plastic use. Collaborating with an external company, I procured a sample of a reusable pallet wrap as an eco-friendly alternative to conventional shrink wrap. After conducting extensive data and analysis to formulate a comprehensive operational plan for its integration within our branch, I presented my refined proposals to the corporate team. Over a span of 7 years, this transition is estimated to save 13,000,000 sqft of plastic, resulting in significant cost savings amounting to $78,000.- I uncovered a flaw within warehouse stock which contributed to our rates of inaccurate item retrieval. To address this challenge, I took the initiative to design custom signage using Adobe Illustrator, which led to a significant enhancement in both warehouse organization and the accuracy of order fulfillment. Subsequent to the successful implementation, this project was expanded and scaled across the organization. I collaborated with fellow branch managers, and the results were outstanding, as additional warehouses adopted this innovative approach for their workstations.- For my final project at Gensco, I digitized the OSHA picker and forklift safety checklist using Excel, reducing waste and saving employees time. After two-months of data collecting, the digital format I created saved 6.4 minutes daily, resulting in an annual time savings of 29 hours.
