"Leadership, when done right, is an act of service." I have come up with these words as a reminder for the life and career I seek in my future. I am an avid critical thinker and observer, who loves to analyze situations and provide constructive feedback. The mixture of my passion for service and natural pursuit of solutions and answers has created in me an interest in navigating and improving our most complex organizations and institutions. My passion and interest have currently taken me to the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education at the University of Michigan where I broadly explore and critically examine the socio-political-cultural contexts and implications of higher education, focusing on centering marginalized students' voices, especially those who are at the intersections of multiple marginalized identities. My hope is that my research showcases the creativity of marginalized students who resist current oppressive structures with the hope and dreams of creating new ways of being and existence in higher education and the world.
