Conducted student research on multiple topics including those that studied the intersection of physics, chemistry, and geology. Major themes of the research included contaminant transport in fluvial systems (fluid dynamics), biogeochemical reactions along the sediment and water interface, and geomorphology in general.I utilized multiple complex instruments while conducting my research, and headed the UMW fluvial geomorpholgy and soils lab. Many of analytical methods employed utilized either spectroscopy or EMR to quantify either organic compounds or heavy metals. Spatial analysis of data was completed with ArcGIS.Additionally, I taught several lab classes that accompanied introductory level geology courses.
