The Scrap Exchange is a nonprofit creative reuse center in Durham, North Carolina whose mission is to promote creativity, environmental awareness, and community through reuse. The Scrap Exchange diverts over 145 tons of waste annually from local landfills.As a board member I helped spearhead efforts to prevent gentrification of surrounding property by purchasing it for art and Latino community organizations and turning it into the Reuse Arts District
