The Senior VP of Education & Chief People Officer is responsible for the overall management of the Education and Human Resources Departments while focusing on the overall capacity of BGCDC leaders and systems. The VPED & CPO will be responsible for serving as a liaison and operational support for organizational leaders to ensure the success of our people and programs through leadership coaching, CQI, and strategic planning.

Lead and manage department of 30 staff across 10 partnership sitesServe as a member of the Executive Leadership team of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County, a $7 million organizationProvide strategic planning, continuous improvement guidance, and operational oversight for the AVID/College Club, AVID/CRS, AVID/TOPS, TOPS College Success programs serving over 1800 students annually through college & career readiness, access, and completionRefine structures for alignment across organization and oversee events and projects that bridge departmentsManage external relationships with 2 partner school districts, 4 institutions of higher education, 6 committee members, and numerous annual career partners to deepen programmatic impactsCreate systems of support for consistent growth management and professional development of staff across department, including hiring practices, onboarding, and coachingManage and sustain budget of $1.6 million annually and maintain relationships with key fundersLead a Board Advisory Education Committee in support of the department’s overarching goals

Work with community partners to drive opportunities and experiences to students which help them progress to college enrollment and completion. Programming oversight includes summer internships, career exploration events and workshops, and youth leadership opportunities. Support, recruit, and train volunteer mentors to support high school students socially and emotionally to reach their goals. Support program staff to ensure students receive equal access to career training and opportunities.

•Conduct campaigns around important college benchmarks to ensure college success. Campaigns include but are not limited to: college attendance, textbook purchases, paying off tuition bills, studying for finals, class registration, and FAFSA completion •Provide coaching, mentoring and support through continued contact and meetings with over 160 students to encourage continued enrollment, address personal and academic barriers, and prepare for transfer•Assist TOPS Scholars with implementation of non-cognitive skills (time management, organization, self-advocacy) to balance academic, personal and professional life•Responsible for implementation of a TOPS College Success website•Develop strong relationships with post secondary faculty, staff, and administrators to create more opportunities for students•Track student data, including but not limited to enrollment rate, major choice, financial gaps, challenges faced, and campus engagement•Aid students in exploring career and major interests•Serve on Madison College Youth Career & College Fair Planning Committee•Serve on Undocumented Student Support Task Force

•Serve as first point of contact for students interesting in continuing education at 26 University of Wisconsin campuses for 12 distinct online programs, communicating with an average of 100 prospects per day•Within 12-month period, accomplished 51% enrollment increase for Flexible Option Programs and 36% increase in Collaborative Programs•Utilize Wordpress to develop content for site-wide branding website
