His financial reporting knowledge and his strong analytical skills, combined with his enthusiasm and willingness to work hard, contributed greatly to the success of the project. More important, however, was Taylor’s contribution throughout the two years in which we worked together to the growth and cohesiveness of our team. Upon assuming my role as leader of the team, I solicited feedback from all of the team’s members. As I was a senior partner with the Firm, several of the team’s staff members were reluctant to provide frank and insightful feedback. Taylor was one of the few exceptions – assertively but respectfully asking excellent questions, and providing me with the benefit of his experience with helpful advice on building a foundation for growth. I was quickly impressed by his eloquence, poise and insightfulness, as well as with his ability to use his sense of humor to get his points across. Without his frank input at the beginning of my tenure, I believe that our strategy would not have been as successful as it ultimately became. One of the elements of our strategy was to have regular Team videoconferences, to share success stories and discuss progress in generating new business. Taylor quickly volunteered to help me in rolling out and executing on the strategy. He was instrumental in organizing the various calls, in producing content that was engaging and imaginative, and in helping to lead discussions. At the outset, many of the Team members, including those more experienced, were reluctant to speak up or even be seen on our videoconferences. Taylor, however, did not hesitate to be visible or to speak, or even to lead elements of the discussion. This was especially important to me, because he was clearly recognized by the members of the Team as a strong and talented professional, and he demonstrated to them that he enthusiastically embraced our strategy. In leading by example, Taylor helped to drive buy-in at all levels of the Team."
