- Participated as an individual contributor and as a technical lead for many projects from a wide range of customers where our team could offer technical expertise into various areas, typically targeting some embedded device - Advised numerous high-profile customers on some of their proposed communications modules that had critical flaws in their design- Built custom modem blocks in GNURadio for enhanced performance of custom spread spectrum waveform, including packet detection, timing synchronization, carrier tracking, etc.- Created simplified and bit-exact Matlab code for development and verification of new RTL code

- Oversaw and motivated a small team of engineers tasked with porting a proprietary waveform onto a commercially available software defined radio- Navigated a unique balance of managing a group with disparate backgrounds, contributing to the project as the main HW engineer, and preparing all formal reports and presenting all status updates to the customer- Exceeded expectations with customer during phase 1 and have received phase 2 funds for continued research and development

- FPGA engineer tasked with developing sophisticated algorithms for numerous proprietary waveforms- Simulated the various algorithms in MATLAB using both floating and fixed-point models - Built up models using VHDL and verified their correctness using testbenches in Modelsim- Implemented the algorithms on a Xilinx Ultrascale FPGA as part of larger framework and verified their correctness through user-defined registers, ILAs, spectrum analyzers, etc. - Lent assistance and expertise to numerous projects simultaneously, helping drive the various projects towards continued funding and success in their ventures

- Developed profoundly reliable spectrum sensing algorithm capable of detecting users with no prior knowledge of the deployed environment or its users- Simulated floating-point and fixed-point representations of the algorithm in MATLAB - Translated the algorithm to VHDL and validated its design using testbenches in Modelsim- Implemented the full design on a Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale FPGA and tested its performance using signal generators and spectrum analyzers, ultimately achieving the lower bound of its expected results- Effectively communicated my progress to management and other engineers, and consistently met deadlines determined through sprint planning

- Lead research assistant in wireless lab that was responsible for educating new team members with the relevant waveform using theoretical analyses and detailed simulations in MATLAB- Developed various physical layer modules for use on a software defined radio, including a novel adaptive filter that has since been awarded a U.S. patent- Work was primarily focused on spread-spectrum waveforms but also spent a great deal of time working on OFDM waveforms
