About Larry E. Taylor

My original background was in advanced electronics. I served with the U.S. Navy for about 7 years, with a top-secret security clearance and cryptographic access maintaining electronics countermeasures systems on various classified projects. After the Navy, I took a position with IBM. During my 10 years with IBM, I worked in three divisions covering all aspects of electronic data entry systems, computer systems, networks and was one of the first IBMers trained on the IBM PC family of computers. While still with IBM, I obtained my Vocational Teaching Certification for Indiana and for about 12 years, I taught computer classes at Ivy Tech College in the evenings. I moved from computer hardware to software and left IBM to focus on custom software development.BFGoodrich asked me to write a Production Scheduling system and a Lab system. I spent the next 15 years with BFGoodrich, Geon and PolyOne corporations, writing many plant-oriented software systems which led to me being a shared resource between vinyl compounding plants, corporate engineering and IS&T. This included 16 locations throughout the United States and Canada.Committees include; VCSC Electronics Advisory Board, Ivy Tech Computer Advisory Board, GEON PC Steering Committee, Chairman of the Corporate Task Force on Electronic Document Control, Geon Committee on Knowledge Sharing and the Geon Software Developer Forum. In 2003, I started Taylor Systems and Software Design, providing IT services and support (via remote control) for small businesses and organizations. I have now expanded into the Internet, building and maintaining websites and starting mobile software development. I have also added graphics designer to my skillsets; and have designed and produced TV commercials and print ads.I married Victoria in 2008, Valentines Day on a beach in Kauai and moved to California. My wife and I have another business (fundraising for local charities) .

I currently spread my time between writing custom software for small businesses and organizations. I have written all the software in every division of one company and linked their network to a website for interfacing with their customers. I have also added Graphics Designer and marketing when I became involved with my wife's company. So far, I have designed and produced 2 TV commercials and numerous print ads. I have settled into writing custom software, developing and maintaining websites, maintaining small business networks, their data, backups and provide remote support and training (as requested). I provide IT support services for small businesses and organizations that need the skills of an experienced full-time IT professional. I have programmed applications in 12 languages and I am adding 3 more languages as I now move into the world of software development for mobile devices.
