About Taylor Ruffin

I am a graduate from University Wisconsin Stevens Point with a degree in Wildlife Ecology: Research and Management and minors in Biology and Soil Science. Although my academic career was research based, majority of my work experience involves partnership coordination and public engagement projects between federal, state, local agencies and nonprofit organizations. I have held positions on all sides developing, implementing and reporting projects and programming that engage underrepresented communities in natural resources. My current role at Environmental Learning for Kids (ELK) allows me to exercise my skills and utilize my experience in order to be a positive mentor to young adults in the Denver Metro Area. I am privileged to work with an amazing and diverse group of students as an Education Coordinator for ELK. I provide students with resources to explore natural resource careers and college opportunities. As well as expose students to the variety of outdoor recreation experiences that Colorado has to offer! By fostering a connection to nature, I help students discover their passion and become strong leaders.
