My day-to-day duties included carrying out eye tests, administering spectacles prescriptions and advising on contact lens management. I would provide counselling for patients with low vision aids on how to adapt their lifestyle. I would also carry out cycloplegic refraction, orthoptic assessments and refer to the ophthalmologist. I was able to manage a caseload of up to 100 patients per day. Other duties included data collection for monthly reports that aided the quality control.

I also worked with the dispensing team to cut spectacle lenses and adjust frames for patients. For customer satisfaction, I would also make follow-up calls after the patients left our care to ensure they were happy with the quality of the service and product they received.
