Following the successful sale of the GPSS I am now the Finance Director of the OPA responsible for finance, procurement, IT and contract control. The OPA is now responsible for storage of marine diesel on behalf of Navy Command.

Financial controller at the OPA in London, part of the MoD. Responsible for all aspects of the financial management of the largest pipeline network in the UK and a key part of the sale team that successfully privatised the Government Pipeline and Storage System.

My main responsible was for the monitoring of Revenue and AR for the European region of Readers Digest International.Other projects included - a Finance Transformation Project to reduce costs across International and Europe Entities, the Liquidation and closure of the Timelife Europe Companiesand a project involving using Alliant Royalty Software to calculate the European Royalties.

Finance System Implementation from planning to deliveryKey Achievements:Reduced debtor days from 79 days to 43 days by introducing a new Accounts receivable system. Involved in the initial stages of a new CRM system, including current process interrogation, process mapping and providing suggestions for improvements. Implement a new purchasing procedure to take into account changing VAT rules. Reported on potential acquisitions including investment appraisal.

P&L ManagementProduced budgets, forecasts and variance analysis for all departments. Monitored revenue recognition using project accounting methods and prepared profitability analysis on all projects.

Produced the monthly computations of Accruals, Prepayments and Third Party cost recognition.Duties also included Bank reconciliations, VAT recognition, Payroll reconciliations and assisting in Tax returns to HMRC.Responsible for the calculations of CACI sales commissions for the 50 sales staff. In 2005 he won the Annual Achievement Award for his "hard work, friendly and helpful approach when dealing with commission calculation."
