Reporting to the CEO of a large southern Oregon FQHC that provides primary care, behavioral health and outpatient and residential substance abuse treatment, I am responsible for all technology functions. This includes responsibility for project management, network and infrastructure services, electronic health record (EPIC), service desk, data analytics, intranet/web site management and security.

Reporting to the CEO, responsible for all Information Services functions for Southern Arizona’s largest physician-owned physician practice and Accountable Care Organization. Responsibilities include:• Recently led a major EHR system conversion from Allscripts to Epic which included primary care, several specialties, radiology, lab and population health.• Executive sponsor for major system conversion encompassing all mission critical applications and the implementation of an all new infrastructure stack including two load-balanced data centers.• Management of an Information Services team consisting of over 40 members• Oversight of two load-balanced data centers• Oversight of data and analytics functions• Chair and/or member of various committees relating to organizational strategy and technology• Catalyst and overseer of digital transformation strategy

Responsible for: * Defining and directing unit mission, scope and operational priorities, standards, policies and implementation plans. * Directing, planning, organizing and controlling project teams and all business aspects related to large/complex information technology projects.* Directing analysis, communication with colleagues and senior management to provide input into policy, procedures, strategic planning decisions and the resolution of operational issues.* Oversee the evaluation of emerging technologies; review recommendations and approve hardware, software and other necessary resources.* Coach and mentor team* Maintain oversight of all Student Affairs Systems Group projects and coordinate resources and timelines with staff and clients.

Responsible for a team of SQL Server database administrators administering all aspects of SQL Server in 24x7x265 environment with approximately 150 database instances and approximately 3,200 databases. Versions include SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2 and 2012. Led the company's participation in the Microsoft Technology Adoption Program (TAP) for the pre-release of SQL Server 2008 R2.

Worked on a variety of projects and provided support including:  Provided support for over 100 SQL Servers containing approximately 900 databases, half of which required 24x7 support. Automated many database administration activities, including performance counter alerts and jobs for a large SQL Server environment. Performed clustered server implementations and periodic failover for testing and reboots. Advised development groups on database architecture and T-SQL code optimization. Installed and maintained SQL Server 2005 databases. Used SQL Server Analysis Services, MS Visual FoxPro and MS Office automation to generate scorecard reports on an enterprise level. Developed a database application to look at statistical bed day utilization for hospitals and predict bed need. Developed technical specifications for a managed care application.

Responsible for managing the team accountable for the technical operations of all major clinical applications for a major research/teaching hospital. Areas managed are database administration, technical support, server performance/management, LAN/WAN network troubleshooting, report development, project management, interfaces into and out of managed systems and vendor relations. Also responsible for hardware specifications, planning and management of application upgrades, allocation of system and personnel resources and providing input into organizational information technology strategy.

Responsible for the implementation and administration of the Health Plan’s Onyx Customer Relationship Management system used by the Sales, Marketing and Operations areas of the Health Plan. Responsibilities included SQL Server database administration, database design, ASP and JavaScript development, technical documentation, project management including management of external vendors and consultants, testing and implementation of system enhancements/modifications, management of system maintenance, management of system backup/disaster recovery planning and reporting to senior management on project and system status.

Managed six sub-project managers in a large scale project to implement SAP and clinical applications in a medium sized hospital in a shared business services environment.

Responsible for all financial, analytical and information systems activities related to CIGNA HealthCare’s insurance and Staff Model clinical operations in Southern Arizona. Managed the Year 2000 system remediation effort, development of a Microsoft Access/SQL Server based reporting and budgeting system, local implementation of the EPIC Patient Financial Services system as well as day to day information systems operations.

Responsibilities included establishing the EDP audit function, which had not previously existed; performing operational, financial, and EDP audits of various business functions and units; coordinating and providing support to various external auditors; review of divisional financial statements; completion of special projects as requested by senior management; and participation in the strategic planning sessions for various business units. Other responsibilities included the training and mentorship of new and junior auditors.
