A child who has a consistent, reliable mentor while growing up is more likely to graduate high school, have a higher self esteem and less likely to engage in negative behaviours such as bullying. I have had the opportunity to work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince George since June 2006. During this time I have been able to work on various projects while holding different job titles including Program Manager, Community Development Coordinator and Manager of Events. Duties include: Develop, promote and execute agency fundraising campaigns; Coordinate and execute agency events; assist with Program Development; Create, build and maintain relationships with agency stakeholders; Agency Marketing; Media Relations; Publishing Newsletter and Website; Agency Branding and Graphic Design; Grant Writing; Volunteer Recruitment; Volunteer Retention; Human Resources and Development, Implementation and ongoing execuition and evaluation of agency’s Social Enterprises.

In November 2011 I was honoured to be elected as a Trustee on the Board of Education for School District 57 (Prince George). Our School District shares boundaries with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George and includes the communities of Prince George, Mackenzie, Hixon, McBride, and Valemount. I was re-elected for a second term in November 2014 and a third term in October 2018.I served as Chair of the board from December 2016 to November 2020. From December 2012 to November 2014 and September 2015 to December 2016 I served as Vice Chairperson for the Board of Education. In addition, I have also served as Chairperson of Policy and Governance (3 years), Management and Finance ( 2 Years) and Education Programs and Planning (1 Year), Technology Advisory Committee (2 years), and Expanded Committee of the Whole on budget consultation. Proud to be elected to the Board of Directors for the BC School Trustee Association. The BCSTA advocates for and supports public school trustees in BC and ensure the best possible public education for students living in British Columbia. In addition to my role as a director I have had the following responsibilities:- Member of the Indigenous Education Committee (2018-2019).- Representative on the K-12 Aboriginal Partners Council (2018-2019)- Chair of Student Initiatives Working Group (2018-2019)- Member of the Legislative Committee (2019-2020)- Chair of Working Group on Inclusive Education (2019-2021)- Co-Chair of BCSTA COVID-19 Working Group (2020 - 2021) - Co- Chair of BCSTA Working Group on recruitment and retention (2020-2021) - Chair of Finance and Audit Committee (2021-2022)- Representative on Ministry of Education working groups.

I had the opportunity to serve as the Branch President from January 2016 to January 2018, Past President from January 2018 - January 2019, and Communications Officer from January 2014 to January 2016.The BCSTA Northern Interior Branch represents Public School Trustees from School District 57, 27, 28, 91, 59, 60 and 81.

I had the opportunity to sit as a Director on the Board of Directors for six years. During this time I served as President for 5 years and Past President for 1 year. During my time on the board we celebrated our 20th Anniversary, saw a rebrand of the organization, updated our website and worked to increase brand presence in the community. This work lead to more volunteers for our 110+ members.

I was the founder and project lead in coordinating the HEARTS seniors christmas dinner. This was an " all inclusive" christmas dinner for up to 120 seniors living independently. Each guest received dinner, gift, corsage and transportation to and from.Role included event organization preparation, execution and evaluation, sponsorship, volunteer recruitment and supervision and ensuring the event ran successfully. This event ran for 9 years.
