I am focused on driving optimal long-term risk outcomes that align with strategic directions. To achieve this, I engage (and influence) a wide variety of stakeholders to drive support for the outcomes. With a strong background in human factors and risk, I consider the system as a whole – this includes the role of people, process, culture, and more.I have had the privilege of leading the development of the Rail Industry Safety Strategy (2016-2020), via my leadership of several Australian industry bodies. This strategy underpinned the industry led activities to improve safety at a local and National level. More recently I have had opportunities to support Enterprise Risk integration into a major defence organisation, developed risk-based tools for the rail industry, and have provided strategic and tactical risk and human factors support to across a range of government and industry organisations and alliances.As an Executive at MTM, I led the implementation of the current Enterprise Wide Risk Management approach, integrated the change management processes into the business, and led the human factors integration approach into systems design (internal and external projects). In leading these, the outcome was to ensure a sustainable and efficient change, and this was achieved by linking to and embedding into existing systems and processes and leveraging skills and experience available.I enjoy working in complex environments and can successfully navigate ambiguity by always thinking about and / or defining the strategic outcomes. I pride myself on working with people to align our strategic vision, and facilitating the delivery of that vision.
