I started out helping design, architect, and implement new systems to integrate vulnerability scanners and reporting tools in Go using a plugin model to allow for arbitrary entry-/end-points. My job shifted significantly over time. I became the interim manager for my team for nearly a year. During and after that time, my job moved to more security operational work, including evaluating and scanning for vulnerabilities, driving vulnerability responses across multiple teams (including leading the response for Wannacry), participating in incident response, handling the coordinated disclosure (ie. bug bounty) program, evaluating and taking action on vendor vulnerability advisories, and performing various audit activities (including satisfying PKI, PCI, and SOX regulatory requirements). I designed, implemented, configured, and maintained a number of vulnerability-related automation solutions within the ServiceNOW platform using various modules and JavaScript code. I maintained and uplifted legacy home-grown software in Python. I gained or expanded experience in various tools, including ServiceNOW, JIRA, Tanium, Tenable.io, Rapid7, Git, MySQL, and various productivity tools such as O365. I also learned multiple new (to me) languages including Python, JavaScript (ES5), Go, and Bash shell scripting. I participated in multiple AWS training opportunities including an intro to AWS and an AWS architecture class. I also served as an agile scrum master for much of my time in addition to my aforementioned primary duties.

Designed Agile/Scrum workflow in Jira, and assisted manager in determining and implementing team best practices and SOP for proper software/firmware development.Principal designer of Android/Linux kernel drivers for advanced proprietary mobile fuel gauge, including architecture, build, test, and maintenance. Also prototyped this driver on the raspberry pi, including (on both platforms) integrating with kbuild and devicetree in order to create built-in kernel drivers.Designed USB Type-C/PD port controller drivers for PIC and ARM microcontrollers, as well as Linux kernel drivers, including the full Type-C and PD stack with VDM support. Also designed USB Type-C/PD port manager for multiple port controller devices for embedded controllers (PIC, ARM). Work included design, implementation, test/verification, and maintenance support as needed.Designed I2C/I2S audio driver for PIC32 to drive proprietary advanced audio amplifier device for streaming high-quality audio.Designed multiple GUIs in VB.NET to support in test, verification, and demonstration of drivers.

Portland, Maine Area

Held multiple positions, including QA testing, QA automation, engineering solutions (advanced bug/error hunting and fixing with minimal change sets), and code development. The overall work included testing and developing windows application drivers for industrial automation which plug into Kepware's proprietary industrial communications and control software. The vast majority of the work was in C++, with some QA automation in C#, mostly using Visual Studio, Accurev, and JIRA. The ability to read and understand complicated datasheets and communication protocols was required. I was also an agile scrum master and received multiple agile trainings.
