As the sole network engineer, responsibilities included the full management of all (OSI layers 2-3) switches, routers, and firewalls. Additional responsibilities included designing, configuring, deploying, and providing 24/7 (on-call) monitoring and support for company’s entire (fully redundant) network including all circuits, switches, routers, firewalls, and global vpn network architecture (Layers 2-3). First project consisted of a complete network redesign and colo (datacenter) migration and modernizing of all existing switches, routers, and firewalls with Cisco equipment, including configuration and updating all routing, VLANs, InterVLAN routing, IP schema, redundancy, fail-over, remote access / client vpn via Cisco AnyConnect on ASA Firewall(s), and fully redundant circuits and VPNs to allow for a minimum of 5 years additional company growth as a global online marketplace. Once deployed, was responsible for automated monitoring, backups, and 24/7 response and support for all layer 2-3 connections and devices, including but not limited to Cisco 3700 series layer 3 switches, Cisco 2900 series routers, and Cisco ASA 5515 firewalls.

Responsible for managing and performing configuration changes on Cisco security devices such as the ASA, PIX, and IPSes as well as various Cisco routers, in large customer network environments. Additional responsibilities included, but not limited to, network threat remediation, and network security services activations.

Serving Cisco Remote Operations Services at Cisco's Gold Partner, IPSoft, as Team Lead, Technical Executive, and Tier III Network Engineer for Tier 1 (fortune 100) clients' global networks and data centers. Duties included company growth based network design, data center retrofits, daily global network operational support and analysis, network security tactical consultations, and project management to address existing chronic issues.

Responsible for supporting two of the largest foundation network clients for Cisco Systems’ Global Virtual Network Operations Center. Daily operations included, but was not limited to, triaging the inflow of support tickets, analysis of incidents, and the troubleshooting and resolving both basic and complex networking issues. Common issues included BGP and EIGRP tunnels and crypto maps, IP routing issues, MPLS and T1-T3 circuit problems. Additional responsibilities included creating training materials and ensuring client expectations were regularly exceeded.

On a six month contract, provided technical assistance for network security and enterprise network intrusion protection systems for the Eastern hemisphere. Clients included, but not limited to, defense contractors, GE, NASA, and the Department of Defense and foreign military infrastructures. Daily responsibilities included packet capture analysis, global network troubleshooting, and network performance troubleshooting.
